Announcement:

As we head into the post-season, Predictions Team wanted to post something a little different. We've come up with a very special article for you all! Similar to how Johnnyboi, CJCJ, Rolldizz and Daz will rank the top players heading into RLCS LANs, we wanted to put together our lists of top players heading into RLPC playoffs for each league. You'll see individual rankings from each person (some of whom wanted to remain anonymous). I want to thank all of those who helped me out and a special thank you to those who went above and beyond! I hope you all enjoy!!

Drayya
Arguably the most mechanical (and mechanically consistent) player in A this season, it's shocking that Dray missed out on an all-star spot in a season where he was 6th in A for goals (58), 10th in saves (77), and a division winner on the 12-6 Titans. Titans will be without Vhux for 2 playoff round games and Dray will not be happy if that's a reason they exit playoffs early. Expect all eyes to be on him to consistently double tap/flip reset his way to a championship.

Pyrex
If Dray is the most mechanical player in A, Pyrex is the fastest and all-round most consistent (defense + offense) player in my opinion. His excellent decision making has propelled the Ravens to a #1 overall seed off a 15-3 regular season record. With 59 goals, 44 assists (1st) and 69 saves, he will be charged with leading the Ravens to a championship in a season where all the pressure is on them as favorites. He's going to need to continue to be decisive and confident on his way to glory.

V/Vhux
This is a weird one as Vhux hasn't played the last 4 games of the regular season and will miss the first 2 games of playoffs due to a suspension. Despite that, he's 8th in A for goals scores (53) and would likely be Top 2 if he had been available for the last 4 games. In my opinion, he holds the Titans roster together and connects their offense and defense. If Titans are still in playoffs when he's able to play again, their roster is instantly elevated by a dangerous. aggressive and smart player.

tmdt
You're looking at the highest all-star vote getter. A player who's 2nd in goals (68 - a whopping 9 goals in front of the 3rd place), 3rd in assists (43) and should be a serious candidate for regular season MVP. Tmdt's playstyle not only delivers great attacking output but also acts as the glue that holds this Snowmen roster together. Under his leadership, the team clinched the division title amongst a very stacked division and if there's one guy to lead Snowmen to a chip, it's him.

Alan
A newcomer to RLPC who got off the waitlist mid-season only to be traded from the Jesters to the Genesis, Alan has proven himself as a serious threat. He's helped Genesis go 8-1 in their last 9 games of the regular season, with 3 of those wins being sweeps. He has impeccable ground game and provides a new dimension of offense to a strong Genesis roster that finished 13-5, only missing out on an upper bracket berth due to tiebreaker rules. Yes, he's a sleeper pick but then again, those are the most dangerous ones.

Doc
Having Doc this high on the list might feel controversial - after all, his highly-touted Cougars team seemed to fall apart after losing Rilo and only scraped by with a division title on a 10-8 record in what felt like a very weak division. That said, Doc has a reputation of clutching when necessary and led his roster last season to an Indy championship. In the moments that matter, he scores important goals, gets game winning saves and most importantly, is a leader that his teammates will follow.

NoticedDawn7887
Another pick that perhaps some may argue is a bit too high on this list but Dawn is a proven figure on a dangerous Ravens team. If Dawn doesn't show up, Pyrex and Kaori don't get it done in my opinion. 59 goals (.98pg) and 88 saves (1.47pg) show how well Dawn has played throughout the regular season in A and despite not being a household name, make a strong argument as to why they deserve to be this high on the list. Watch out for a player that suffocates teams on offense.

Lumi/Oinko
This guy is a triple threat. Goals, assists, saves - he gets it done. He clicks well with Vhux and Dray and would likely be on much higher stats if he wasn't queuing on Kuwait West ping. He's needed to step up even more with Vhux out and all eyes will be on him and Dray's partnership to navigate the tricky waters of early round playoff gameplay. Lumi's speed and ball movement allow him to create space for his teammates and it's no mistake the Titans are a serious contender for the A championship with him on the roster.

Ac3
A highly regarded draft pick, it took him a while to find the right roster pieces to make a playoff push but boy was a push made. Forming a partnership with hazard, Ac3 was able to guide his Stallions to a playoff berth which really did seem hopeless. His stats aren't the highest but his per game ratios show a strong player that can reliably turn towards hazard and Barretta to pull off wins in important games. Watch out for his shooting and aggressiveness as he can make a lot of teams feel awkward in pressure-filled games.

Glaze
An integral part of the Genesis roster. It's important to note he teamed with Vgl last season and is carrying over strong chemistry as a duo. He's known as a selfless player that adapts to whatever role is required to win games - a trait that a large number of RL players don't have in their arsenal. An all-round player, Glaze chips in with goals, assists and saves across the board made possible by a high-level of mechanics that allow him to play multiple roles. Glaze is a certified threat in the air and will look to control the skies during playoffs.

Vigil
An RLPC veteran who has a penchant for being around competitive teams, Vgl is looking to avenge his runners up finish from last season in Indy. Vgl is top 10 in each of goals (7th), assists (T-1), and saves (9th) and can clearly take control of games if he's in the mood. Part of a strong Genesis roster with Alan and Glaze, he has the tools to get it done but it won't be an easy path from down in the lower bracket. Look out for a player who shoots the ball well and leads his team effectively as they navigate playoff time.

Norm
Another weird one and in all honesty, it was between him and Flazhy. I think Flazhy has yet to still prove himself as he missed a chunk of the season as non-playing but Norm's pickup from the waitlist has revitalized a Gulls roster that seemed to be fizzling out. Despite not having a ton of games under his best, his goals, assists and saves ratios are all >1 and there's a feeling around A league that he has the X factor that can take Gulls to a deep playoff run. Norm is going to have to develop quick chem with his Gulls teammates but has all the right resources to do so.

Mayhem
It didn't seem to click for Mayhem on Stallions but on the Cougars, he's found a home where he has a credible shot at a championship. His stats show a proven goal scorer and competent saver, however 19 assists (.38 pg) feels a little low for what's needed in A which is why he doesn't make the top 12. Mayhem deserves an honorable mention though and I guess this is his motivation to prove me wrong.

Independent League Player Rankings

Indy Rankings

1: Stomper - By far the easiest pick, he should be the consensus MVP after bringing his team back from a 1-4 start to the season.

2: Phyzixs - Everyone knows how good Phyzixs is, no surprise that he ends up in this spot considering the success the Centurions had this season.

3: Atomic - Atomic ends the regular season as probably the most notorious independent player, however his gameplay is able to back it up with him leading the Admirals to the #1 overall seed.

4: Datsun - After being extremely solid all season, Datsun especially helped the Yellow Jackets hit their mid season stride and do the impossible and overtake both the Grizzlies and Centurions for their divisional win, easily cementing himself as top 5.

5: Oath - An absolute game-changer for the Sockeyes, Oath is able to just make plays for his team. After coming back from his absence he was able to carry his team to some much needed wins to finish off the season.

6: Threads - Threads is absolutely the best player on the Thrashers, the team which I believe is the most underrated in the league after quietly achieving a 13-5 record. However, Threads is one of the big reasons why they were able to get this far.

7: CubNuts - Cub is one of the most clutch players in the league, consistently being a problem for teams every gameday. Pairing him with Atomic makes an especially dangerous Admirals offense.

8: Kyle - One of the most mechanically gifted players in the league, he’s able to make things happen on his own and has an extremely high ceiling.

9: oH iLethal - Lethal is probably the best playmaker in independent. The duo between Lethal and Phyzixs is one of if not the best in the league. He’s able to set Phyzixs up and also take the lead role when he needs to.

10: MrSoulBob - An absolutely underrated player, he deserves more attention and really helps to round out the Sockeyes in any place that he can.

11: Monkeybacon - I think Monkeybacon is also another underrated player, the quiet Thrashers boast a ton of talent and he is no exception.

12: Cognitixn - One of the best third mans in the league, he’s able to let Phyzixs and Lethal do their thing while doing all the dirty work and being good at it.

HM. Jdubs - Jdubs is another third man that bears through all the dirty work and helps the Admirals be extremely successful. Not to mention his own individual abilities when he needs them.
